Dealing with Daily Dementia Caregiving Challenges
This session will provide practical strategies and support for the everyday challenges that caregivers face, with an emphasis on managing physical challenges, including toileting and bathing. Designed for caregivers, friends, and anyone supporting a person who is living with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, the session is led by a dementia care specialist and physical therapist, and participants will learn practical strategies, communication techniques, and adaptive approaches that can make daily routines safer and less stressful for the caregiver and the loved one.
The physical care of a person living with dementia can be one of the most physically demanding aspects of the caregiving journey. This hands-on session addresses some of the most common and difficult day-to-day challenges caregivers face, including toileting, bathing, wandering, agitation, and supporting safety and mobility at home.
